to Install Fonts on a PC
You will need a program like Winzip
to decompress the PC zip files.
Download the zipped font of your choice
but clicking the link. When the download box appears,
choose "save file" and select the folder into
which you want to save the zipped file.
Double click the zip file
with the font, and make sure to use Winzip to unzip
the font. You will need to remember into which folder
the unzipped font goes. This is necessary for step 11
below **.
1. Go to the Windows 95 / 98 / ME /
XP Desktop
2. Open "My Computer"
4. Open "Control Panel"
5. Open the "Fonts" folder,
and you will see all the fonts currently installed
6. Click on "File" (or alt+F)
on the toolbar, and select "Install New Fonts."
7. When the "Add Fonts" window
appears, there will be a white text box labeled "Folders".
8. Browse to the folder where you unzipped the fonts
you wish to install.
9. The fonts will be shown in the "List of Fonts"
box. You can scroll through the fonts and select the
font(s) you want to install. You can click on one
font, or select more then one by holding down the
control key as you are click each font. You can select
all the fonts at once by clicking on the first one
in the list, then while holding down the shift key,
click on the last font you want installed. You can
also click on the "Select All" button.
10. After the font is selected (it will be highlighted),
press the OK button.11. The fonts will then be installed.
You will see an install progress dialogue for the fonts
as they are being installed. It will disappear when
finished, and the installation is complete. You will
be returned to the Fonts window, and the font you've
just installed will be included there. 12. You can now
close all the open windows and begin using the new fonts.
NOTES:
1. Do not create new folders or put fonts into new
folders within the Font Folder.
2. For best results, install the fonts before opening
the program you want to use it.
3. If you try to install fonts which are already
installed, you will be presented with a warning window
telling you that you cannot install the font unless
you first un-install it. Press OK to the dialogue
box, as this warning means nothing.
4. Most programs will not register newly added fonts
in their fonts lists until you restart the application/program.
